PILATES

An excellent form of exercise working on stability, control, muscle strengthening and flexibility.

Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s as a system of exercises aiming to strengthen the mind and body. It is based on six principles of concentration, control, centre, flow, precision and breathing. Pilates is an excellent form of exercise working on stability, control, muscle strengthening and flexibility. It is suitable for everyone, young or old, beginner or advanced.

I am a physiotherapist with training in mat work pilates as well as all the equipment and I am able to modify any of the exercises to suit your abilities.

I run small classes no more than 4 in each class to ensure that you are doing the exercises correctly and to enable me to modify the exercises if I feel that you need that. I use lots of different pieces of equipment: foam roller, pilates ball, resistance bands and gym balls to make the exercises more challenging.
